Hi,
My name is Andrew Mendler and I am a 19 year old student currently enrolled in the Journalism: Online, Print and Broadcast program at Loyalist College.
In my Reporting and Writing class I have been assigned to blog three times a week. This blog is to be considered a professional journalism blog and will consist of these assignments only.
Every week I will be writing two blog in response to articles I have chosen from a major news source (CBC, Toronto Star, CTV News etc…) I will also be writing one blog in response to either a blog done by someone else in the class or on the blog or column of a well-known journalist.
Good stuff Andrew. I really enjoyed reading your Blog and especially liked your comments on the strike issue. Your writing is very impressive !
Let’s hope that the college teachers that didn’t vote last time will come out this time to say that they really don’t want to go on strike.
I heard that you have a place for next year which I’m sure is a relief – it is really great that you each have a bedroom and I’m guessing that there is more than one bathroom for 6 people too.
I sure hope you have classes to go to next week – I’ve been involved in a strike before and it is not fun for anyone and often hard to really know what is the issues are as you found out. The media often gets blamed for not doing accurate reporting at such times so if it happens maybe you could turn it into some sort of a journalism learning experience and really get to the “real truth”
